Top Cats of Design — Typography 63 — Communication & Type Design
International graphic design at its best from the Type Directors Club
Wednesday 5 September 2018 — Opening reception for Typography 63, the annual international competition exhibition of the Type Directors Club (TDC, New York), 5:30-8:30pm, in the Schelfhaudt Gallery, Arnold Bernhard Center (ABC), University of Bridgeport, 84 Iranistan Avenue (parking off University or Ingleside).
The exhibition features the work of the top cats in communication design selected by an international jury out of entries from around the world. The best of posters, books, editorial spreads, packaging, environmental installations, logos, identities, typeface design, and more will be on display in the Schelfhaudt Gallery from Wednesday 5 September until Saturday 6 October.
“This annual event at SASD (Shintaro Akatsu School of Design) is an inspiration and spur to greater design for our students – and a great marker for the current state of graphic design,” says Prof. Gary Munch, acting chair of graphic design at SASD at UB. “Being at the forefront of design is something the TDC is known for and we’re especially proud at SASD to be adding this important collection to our teaching archives.”
This event is free and open to the public.
