ID Seniors Visit ASSA ABLOY

Fri 6 Dec 2019 — The Shintaro Akatsu School of Design (SASD) had two sponsored projects running this fall 2019. Industrial Design senior students worked with ASSA ALBOY, aka Sargent Lock, in New Haven, CT to develop concepts for behavioral locks and hardware systems. Both ASSA ALBOY and Unilever USA (Trumbull, CT) have recently hired SASD students for internships.

ID & GD Juniors Go Sustainable

Fall 2019 — The Graphic and Industrial design juniors worked with Unilever USA, Trumbull, CT to develop sustainable package design concepts for personal care products. Collaborative cross-discipline projects are a feature of SASD's curriculums that foster teamwork and cooperative design thinking processes. Both ASSA ALBOY and Unilever USA have recently hired SASD students for internships.

Fri 26 Apr 2019 — Three SASD graphic design students swept the top three prizes in the "Branding Portfolio" contest at the Connecticut Business Competition and Entrepreneur Conference, Friday 4/26, Gateway Community College, New Haven.
