SASD Students Finalists in Annual 48 Hour RePack Competition

2016 — Two teams of industrial and graphic design students were among ten finalist teams in the annual 48 hour Re-Pack competition for 2016.

Re-Pack challenges students to reformulate packaging to better serve the product and to increase recycling and reduce waste in packages. In January 2016, two SASD at UB teams submitted solutions to packaging problems and each judged to be one of the top ten solutions. The teams had 48 hours over one weekend to come up with innovative packaging.
This year, the teams offered new packs for juice and juice boxes.

The teams and their solutions were:

Minute Maid Redesign Sti-Raw, addressing the problems young children have with juice box straws and with puncturing the seal.
