Emily Larned’s self-published artist books and periodicals are exhibited and collected internationally by over 65 major public institutions including the Tate, Getty, Victoria & Albert Museum, Brooklyn Museum, Walker Art Center, Chicago Museum of Contemporary Art, and the Smithsonian. Her work has been featured in publications such as Vogue Living, the Fader, and Design Observer. She has lectured at institutions across the country including Columbia University, Portland Institute of Contemporary Art, UPENN, and Florida State University; has curated exhibitions of self-publishing at Parsons Gimbel Library, the Center for Book Arts, and Asheville BookWorks; and has taught at Visual Studies Workshop, SUNY Purchase College, UConn, and Art New England. Her current work includes the artist membership organization / social practice and publishing platform Impractical Labor, and the public park reclamation project Pleasure Beach Lives.
