Two UB-SASD junior graphic design students won first and second places in the Advertising Club of Connecticut’s annual digital billboard competition, judged on Wednesday 27 February.
Jose won First Place and $150 for his “Save a Pet” board, and Erika Ayala won Second and $50 for “Tweet About It”. Each student used their own pets as models. (And who could resist those puppydog eyes!)
Both are students in Prof. Gary Munch’s Junior Graphic Design Studio. “I’m really happy that the time we take to get just the right image in combination with the perfect words has again paid off. Getting a statement that reads well at 65+ MPH is a matter of paring out what is not needed to get to the core of the argument. That’s what Jose and Erika (and all the other juniors) accomplished. Short, Simple, Stirring.”
Jose’s winning billboard will be seen on digital billboards in Connecticut in coming weeks.
